Application Considerations
Although extremely hard, Single Crystal Diamond is more brittle than PCD or carbide materials. Optimal performance requires ultra-precision machine tools with high dynamic stability, minimal vibration, and carefully controlled machining parameters. SCD is generally not recommended for ferrous metals due to chemical affinity or for very hard ceramics because of brittleness concerns.
